Acknowledgements

A sincere and special thanks to our advisors, Ms. Joy Ferguson, Dr. MacRae Maxfield, Dr. Michael Estrella, and Mr. Richard Capozzi, for their time, guidance, and encouragement throughout this process. Your willingness to answer questions, identify contributors, and support the journal from concept to completion was invaluable. To the committee, Nina, Shivaii, Rania, & Lily, thank you all. Your dedication and enthusiasm were deeply felt and are a credit to each of you. While this journal welcomed participation from all students, it is noteworthy that the inaugural committee and all student contributors were female. Years ago, a STEM publication founded on female student leadership would have been virtually unheard of, and even today, it remains extraordinary.

This issue features perspectives of an exceptional group of interviewees. We would very much like to thank Principal David Newman for his insightful interview about Brooklyn Tech and the future of the school in the era of social media and artificial intelligence. We would also like to thank Dr. Jonathan Haidt, author of the New York Times #1 Bestselling books The Anxious Generation and The Amazing Generation. His expertise on the effects of social media and AI on children and teens has led the way for discussions and actions worldwide to protect children. Lastly, we would like to thank former Prime Minister of Ireland, Leo Varadkar, for enlightening us with his journey from being a doctor to becoming the youngest ever Prime Minister of Ireland. All of these interviews were incredibly topical and applicable to students at Brooklyn Tech.
